156 applications in the 2008 edition of the Alares Awards for work-life, family, and personal life balance

156 applications have been received and will compete for the 12 awards in the 2008 Edition of the Alares® National Awards, organized by the Alares® Foundation. The purpose of these awards is, among other activities, to recognize the many efforts made to promote, study, and disseminate new service-delivery formulas related to work-life, family, and personal-life balance, and their impact on quality of life. The 2008 Alares® National Awards are aimed at companies, institutions, civil-society initiatives, executives, media professionals, audiovisual programs, innovation and essay projects, universities, business schools, professors, and researchers that have carried out this work effectively. The call for applications was issued on December 20, 2007; the deadline for applications was March 24, 2008, and the decision will be announced on May 27. The public award ceremony will be held in June of this year. The jury is made up of individuals of recognized prestige, as well as representatives of Alares® and its Foundation. The ten categories of the Alares® Awards are described below. They seek to recognize actions, innovations, written works, publications, or professional careers related to the purpose of the awards:

  • Executives
  • Media Professionals
  • Media Outlets
  • Information or Programs in Audiovisual Media
  • Innovation and Essays
  • Universities, Business Schools, Other Educational and Research Institutions

Regarding the assessment of merits, the Alares® Foundation will collaborate with FORÉTICA, the Forum for the Evaluation of Ethical Management. FORÉTICA will review and evaluate the merits presented, which will then be submitted to the jury for deliberation. In each category, the prize consists of an award specially created for this purpose and a certificate.
