About us

Vivofácil (formerly Alares) is the leading company providing private care services for people in their homes

How did Vivofácil begin?

Vivofácil, formerly known as Alares, is the first Spanish company specializing in private personal assistance services at home. Founded in 1999 by Javier Benavente Barrón. Its main goal is to promote equal opportunities and support those who need to balance their personal, family, and professional lives. In February 2023, after 24 years of service, the company changed its name to Vivofácil to make it more recognizable to vulnerable and older people. This transition also reflects its ongoing commitment to the quality and accessibility of its services. Vivofácil remains a leading name in the sector, promoting inclusion and well-being through its Vivofácil Foundation, formerly known as the Alares Foundation.

Vivofácil provides assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in six languages: Spanish, Catalan, English, Portuguese, German, and French. This service is designed to extend its support to foreign nationals who live in or visit Spain, ensuring that everyone has access to the necessary care without language barriers.

Vivofácil’s goal

Vivofácil’s goal

Vivofácil’s goal has always been to ensure that everyone in Spain has access to personal and care services in their daily lives, regardless of their location, financial situation, education, age, or social status. We promote improved quality of life and equal opportunities for all.

At Vivofácil, we believe that every individual deserves access to high-quality services that enable them to live independently and with dignity. That is why we strive to offer comprehensive solutions that address each person’s unique needs, thereby contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society.

Vivofácil believes that the great power for social transformation lies with businesses and civil society, which are the drivers of change toward a fairer society. Its strongest commitment to social responsibility focuses on managing and promoting diversity among people within businesses and institutions, as the greatest source of value creation and social wealth.

To reinforce this purpose, Fundación Alares, a nonprofit organization, was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting and collaborating on initiatives to improve the overall living conditions of older people, support the workplace integration of people with disabilities, promote equal opportunities, and improve business and institutional competitiveness.

Democratizing the care sector and making it more exclusive

Person with a disability

Vivofácil manages all the services it provides to its clients internally with people with disabilities, a group that in Spain has an unemployment rate of over 50% and faces a high risk of poverty and social discrimination. Vivofácil's response was to create its own Special Employment Center in 2009, where at least 85% of the people hired have a recognized disability rated at 33% or higher.

In 2009, the corporation also launched Fundación Diversidad, driven by Fundación Alares, with the aim of promoting and implementing the Diversity Charter in Spain.

Vivofácil Team

With nearly 25 years of experience, the Vivofácil Group has democratized the home assistance services sector in Spain. Thanks to its range of services, anyone can choose between public and private assistance, or supplement public services with alternative options suited to their specific circumstances.

The internal workforce currently consists of more than 500 employees (3,500 indirectly), 50% of whom are people with disabilities. Its own Special Employment Center allocates 10% of its total revenue to creating direct employment for people with disabilities.
