The application deadline for the 2016 Alares National Awards has been extended.

Applications may be submitted until April 28, 2016. Applications Open The Alares Foundation, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last December, is also celebrating the tenth edition of its Alares National Awards. Once again, and this year with special affection, we present the tenth edition of the Alares National Awards, honors that have become a national benchmark in work-life balance. Their aim is to raise awareness in society and recognize the work carried out by various institutions, companies, social organizations, executives, teachers, researchers, and media outlets in favor of work-life balance and social responsibility.

For the Alares Foundation, this is the most special time of the year—a year in which we celebrate having completed 10 years, a decade that has allowed us to see how progress has been made in work-life balance and social responsibility. Today, more than ever, all companies must strive to implement innovative solutions that motivate their professionals and encourage them to commit to the company’s project. Even more so in a socioeconomic context such as the current one, in which work-life balance policies are a distinguishing element and a factor in attracting talent.

For this reason, and because work-life balance programs are necessary to promote diversity management within work teams—something companies must not overlook—we want to give visibility to all these practices. We therefore encourage all companies, institutions, civil society initiatives, executives, media outlets, audiovisual programs, innovation and research projects, universities, business schools, teachers, and researchers to send us their proposals by April 28, 2016, the deadline for submitting them.

In the previous edition of the Alares National Awards, the winners in the different categories were: Pedro Muñoz City Council, Ordes City Council, in A Coruña, Leroy Merlin, Reale Seguros, Ecoembes, Finconsum, the Official College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Madrid, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the Spanish Association of Experts in Customer Relations (AEERC), Jerónima Bonafé, president of Cooperativas Agroalimentarias, Marcos González, director of Mediaresponsable, Laura Prieto Guijarro, Rosa Villacastín, RTVE, ABC, the Conciliation section of the “The Challenge of Shared Responsibility” initiative from the “It’s Your Responsibility, It’s Our Responsibility” campaign by the Red Cross, “Being a Mother Is a Plus” by Hirukide, “Online Clinic” by Mutua Universal Mugenat, Dharma: Life After Redundancy (Eduardo Gismena), the University of Salamanca (Equality Unit), Los Sauces Educational Institution, Alicia E.
