2010 was chosen as the year to launch the Institute for Strategic Analysis of Foundations, an initiative of the AEF whose aim is to raise awareness of Spain’s foundation sector at the national and European levels, thereby strengthening its work within society.
This organization was created in response to the significant growth in the number and diversity of foundations in Spain in recent years. Through this institute, researchers will study the number of foundations currently operating in Spain, the profile of their founders, the main beneficiaries of these foundations, and their geographical distribution.
In the long term, INAEF will also conduct an explanatory analysis based on the data gathered in the first descriptive report, with the aim of observing how the sector evolves, identifying trends in the foundation sector, and examining how Spanish society perceives the work of foundations.
Through these analyses, the institute’s work will help present a positive and accurate image of foundations to society, which will contribute to greater effectiveness and efficiency in their humanitarian work.
