Spain wins 42 medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games

The Spanish team was one of the big winners in London 2012. With a total of 42 medals to their name, the athletes on the Paralympic team once again showed that they are a true example of overcoming adversity and courage. In total, they won 8 gold, 18 silver, and 16 bronze medals across disciplines as varied as athletics, cycling, 5-a-side football, judo, swimming, table tennis, and shooting.

The Spanish team excelled in swimming, whose team won 22 medals (2 gold, 11 silver, and 9 bronze), followed by cycling (2 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze), athletics (3 gold and 2 silver), judo (1 gold and 2 bronze), shooting (1 silver), and 5-a-side football (1 bronze).
