Fundación Alares continues to deliver Social Skills Workshops as part of its program "Employment Objective: Strengthening and Improving Social Skills for People with Disabilities." This program is aimed at training participants in the various skills that help increase the social competence and workplace adaptability of people with disabilities, with the goal of expanding their employment opportunities and/or helping them retain their current jobs for as long as possible.
The most recent workshop (October 9 and 10) was aimed at a group of people with intellectual disabilities: 13 participants from several Occupational Centers in the Community of Madrid. The students' average satisfaction rating for this course was VERY HIGH, according to data collected through the student satisfaction questionnaire, with the aim of promoting continuous improvement.
Next week, we will deliver a new workshop at the Alcorcón Vocational Rehabilitation Center (CRL), aimed at a group of participants with mental health disabilities.
The materials and content of this series of courses, which will ultimately train nearly 200 students, are adapted to each type of disability. Taking into account that many students with intellectual disabilities have not yet mastered reading and writing, the program uses materials made up of easy-to-understand images, ensuring that all students can participate and acquire the knowledge properly.
