Inclusion is the key objective

More than 160,000 people at risk of social exclusion, such as immigrants and people with disabilities, participate in the integration and employment programs organized by the Spanish Red Cross to promote labor inclusion and prevent disengagement in this area. Over the past year, as a result of the loss of jobs in the unskilled positions held by many immigrants in Spain, the number of users of these employment programs has increased by 70,000. The Red Cross considers it necessary to continually seek employment policies to prevent these people from becoming discouraged. Through these workshops, the Red Cross aims to strengthen the specialized qualifications of immigrants so that they can secure employment. It also seeks to promote cultural diversity in the companies with which it establishes partnership agreements to integrate the people it trains through these programs. Antonio Bruel, general coordinator of the Spanish Red Cross, stated at the latest session in the breakfast series organized by Fundación Alares® and EAE Business School that information, motivation, and the creation of personalized pathways to employment are essential for labor market integration. So far, this initiative has achieved excellent results, but greater social awareness is still needed to achieve greater inclusion. Antonio Bruel was one of the speakers at the conference “Immigration and Opportunities for Economic Competitiveness,” held as part of the breakfast series that Fundación Alares® and EAE Business School launched last November. Agustín Torres, Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Labor and Immigration, and Joaquín Arango, Professor at the Complutense University and a migration specialist, also participated. -->
