This morning, Iberdrola, ARHOE—National Commission for the Rationalization of Spanish Working Hours, Adecco and the Alares Foundation signed a manifesto to demonstrate their commitment to and support for implementing measures that enable employees to balance their professional and personal lives within their organizations.
The event took place at a children’s park in the Madrid municipality of Pozuelo, where the energy company invited employees and their families to enjoy a fun day. Those attending included the president of ARHOE—National Commission for the Rationalization of Spanish Working Hours, José Luis Casero; Iberdrola Group’s Human Resources director, Ramón Castresana; Adecco’s director of Marketing and Communications, Margarita Álvarez; and the director general of the Alares Foundation, Mar Aguilera.
The aim of this event, held on the eve of Mother’s Day, was to highlight the importance of work-life balance policies in improving employees’ quality of life, which in turn leads to greater productivity. By signing this document, the organizations called for the adoption of a firm commitment, translated into genuine measures by institutions and companies, to make work-life balance and gender diversity possible and improve everyone’s lives.
The signatories took the opportunity to emphasize that implementing effective work-life balance measures creates sustainable value for society as a whole, as well as value for the company itself, thereby improving corporate social responsibility. They also agreed on the need for greater support and involvement from social groups, companies, associations, representatives and employees in general to achieve progress in work-life balance.
