Palma de Mallorca will become the headquarters of Corporate Social Responsibility, as the European CSR Conference will be held here on March 25 and 26. The event is organized by the Ministry of Labour and Immigration in cooperation with the European Commission.
This event, held during Spain’s presidency of the European Union, is expected to be attended by around 300 CSR experts, 54 representatives from the 27 EU member states, four members of the European Commission’s CSR group, and representatives from the 17 autonomous communities. The sole objective is to examine existing public policies related to the promotion of CSR.
In addition, the various existing European Commission initiatives concerning CSR will be discussed, as well as the links between development cooperation and CSR.
The Balearic Islands were chosen to host this meeting because the first official body established to address this matter—the Directorate-General for Corporate Social Responsibility—was created in this autonomous community.
