Occupational Risk Prevention Awards for People with Disabilities

The presentation of these awards, sponsored and technically supported by Cualtis, is celebrating its fourth edition this year, which will take place on June 24 at the CaixaForum Auditorium in Madrid. These awards, which have become a benchmark in the field of occupational risk prevention for people with disabilities, are sponsored and technically supported by Cualtis. Without this support, it would not be possible to celebrate this recognition of good practices that help improve employment quality by facilitating workplace inclusion and continuity in the job.

The initial assessment of the workplace and the risks arising from it, interventions that promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities with regard to access to and retention in the workplace, ranging from the correct adaptation of the workplace (ergonomics) and appropriate personal protection to prevent occupational accidents, to accessible training that addresses the specific needs of each person according to their disability.

In the words of Eusebio Gómez, Manager and Administrator of Cualtis, “initiatives of this kind, such as sponsoring this event, must help encourage companies, individuals, and institutions to join in providing this support.”

This year, the committee of experts consists of:

Mr. Moisés Escobar Escribano, Ombudsman for People with Disabilities of Alcorcón; Mr. José Manuel Morán, Member of the Economic and Social Council of Spain; Ms. Mar Aguilera, General Director of Fundación Alares; Ms. María del Mar Alarcón Castellanos, General Director of Labour and Manager of the Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work of the Community of Madrid (accompanied by Mr. Juan Antonio Benítez González, Secretary-General of the IRSST); Ms. Carmen Yago, Head of the Occupational Risk Prevention Division of the Madrid Municipal Transport Company; Ms. Pepa Torres, Managing Director of FEACEM; Mr. Mario Cabezos Cañavate, Manager of Prevention and Environment at Mutua Madrileña; Mr. Sixto Cantabrana, Deputy Manager of Cualtis; and Mr. Javier Benavente Barrón, President of Fundación Alares.

This committee of experts will assess all the proposals, and the jury’s decision will ultimately be announced during this month, although it will not be until the 24th that the gala will take place at the CaixaForum Auditorium in Madrid, where the winners in each of the categories will be announced: Large Companies, SMEs, Institutions, and Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP) Professionals.
