Technology to improve the lives of dependent people
The number of dependent people has grown alarmingly in recent years. The population is aging because we are living longer, and older people are the ones who need care and attention from their relatives. People with disabilities are also part of this group, in addition to facing major difficulties accessing the labor market.
To make us all a little freer, a new Technology Platform for Independent Living and Accessibility (eVia) has been created. It is an initiative of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade (MITYC), and its objectives include generating innovative projects that help achieve universal accessibility for everyone, especially older people and people with disabilities. It is important to offer a comprehensive combination of technological, social-care, and healthcare services that make it possible to extend independent living at home.
A world tailored to each individual would considerably improve quality of life and add value to our society.
