Last week, the Community of Madrid opened an information office on dependency and strengthened the 012 telephone service for dependent people, with the aim of assisting an average of 400,000 people a year.
In total, 18 professionals will provide telephone assistance continuously from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. to meet the requests of dependent people.
These measures demonstrate the commitment that the regional government of Madrid says it has to implementing the Dependency Law. To this end, the regional administration will also allocate €900 million to dependency-care policies.
The new Dependency Care Office, located near Chamartín station, will include a registry where citizens can submit the documentation required to process their applications. In addition, at this office, dependent people and their families will be able to resolve their questions about the legislation, receive advice on the services, resources, and benefits included in the law’s catalog, and request specialized information about the processing status of their applications.
