Alares, the first Spanish company in its sector to sign the Diversity Charter

Through these principles, promoted by the European Union, we will work toward the non-discrimination and integration of people of different races, faiths, and cultures among our employees

Alares, Family Assistance Experts, took part yesterday, together with the Ministry of Equality and renowned institutions, in the signing of the Diversity Charter. With this commitment, Alares becomes the first Spanish company dedicated to providing services to people in the social and healthcare sector to work on diversity issues, adapting to the guidelines of the Diversity Foundation. In Spain, the Diversity Foundation, a nonprofit organization, will be responsible for managing the Diversity Charter. Its main objectives will be to raise awareness among companies of the importance of pluralism and integration. By signing the Charter, the organizations undertake to implement initiatives and policies that promote equality and non-discrimination, a key element in improving Corporate Social Responsibility. Alares, guided by its corporate philosophy and its role in society, is firmly committed to these principles and will continue working to improve people’s Quality of Life. According to its President, Javier Benavente: “In addition to promoting the signing of the Charter, the Diversity Foundation must serve as a platform for communicating and exchanging good practices, promoting programs in pursuit of innovation and cooperation. It must be an open window for bringing together initiatives aimed at change and continuous improvement. Because, without a doubt, globalization will reshape the different human horizons and new forms of management.” The Diversity Foundation will advise Alares and work alongside it, following the Diversity Charter’s protocols for action. This tool will help promote the inclusion of people with diverse cultures and backgrounds among its employees. As a result, companies such as Alares will be able to significantly improve their economic and social effectiveness, while also fostering innovation and social integration among their professional teams. In the words of the President of Alares: “For companies, both large and small, embracing diversity is a source of wealth, innovation, and ongoing adaptation to the global market in which we find ourselves and which will undoubtedly help make them more competitive, generating greater well-being.” Evidence of this can be found in the study conducted by CSES (the Centre for Strategy & Evaluation Services of the United Kingdom) for the European Union, which states that 83% of companies report that diversity policies have a positive impact on their business. By integrating people with differences in race, social background, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, and more, companies can avoid workforce homogeneity and foster a climate of satisfaction, which translates into positive results for the company. The Diversity Charter will be promoted in Spain by the Diversity Foundation, an organization established by the European Institute for Diversity Management and the Alares® Foundation.
