Alares continues distributing flowers to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

For the second consecutive year, Alares, committed to contributing to the definitive integration of people with disabilities, aims to raise society’s awareness through the “Distribute Flowers” initiative, which was a great success last year. More than 20,000 people joined this campaign to show their commitment to disability. It maintains its original objective: to raise awareness in order to achieve normalization, because only through this can employment and social inclusion based on equal opportunities be achieved. According to the latest figures from the National Statistics Institute (INE), more than 3.8 million people residing in Spain have a disability, representing 8.5% of the population. Therefore, it is vital to invest in the talent of these people, who have suitable training, great commitment and motivation, and the ability to perform their work according to the highest quality standards. In this regard, Alares promotes their inclusion in society every day through projects for the employment integration of people with disabilities and/or special difficulties. Specifically, Fundación Alares holds numerous training sessions for companies throughout the year, along with social and corporate awareness programs and specialized training, aimed at facilitating these people’s access to the job market. Last year, more than 300 people received training and acquired the skills and abilities needed to access the job market more easily and under better conditions. For all these reasons, taking advantage of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which will be held on December 3, Alares once again wants to reach as many people as possible with the “Distribute Flowers” initiative. The idea, once again this year, is to share, through social media, email and/or WhatsApp, a flower that brings together different disabilities and aims to raise awareness not only on this day, but always, of disability as an integral and enriching part of our society. The hashtag has also been created #FlorPorLaDiscapacidad.

Figures that demonstrate our commitment

After three years of growth in the activity of our Special Employment Center, Alares Social (CEE), 2014 is the year with the best figures for hiring people with disabilities. This is an especially positive situation, as there has been an increase of more than 400% in the number of hires compared with the previous year. This is possible thanks to the quality of the work and professionalism of the people who work there, which makes our clients trust us.
