The seventh edition of the Alares Awards calls for support for a society that reconciles family and working life, in which organizations participate and benefit through increased productivity and competitiveness
- The Alares Foundation and Ibermutuamur Prevention Society have once again recognized the most innovative initiatives in occupational risk prevention for people with disabilities
For the second consecutive year, the Ministry of Employment and Social Security participated in the National Alares Awards Gala held at CaixaForum Madrid. On this occasion, we were joined by the Secretary of State for Employment, Engracia Hidalgo, who presented the awards for the most innovative practices in work–family reconciliation and social responsibility. In addition, the Secretary particularly wished to highlight the work of the winners of the awards for best practices in occupational risk prevention aimed at people with disabilities, an initiative now in its second edition thanks to the support of the Alares Foundation and Ibermutuamur Prevention Society. In her speech, Engracia Hidalgo insisted that:
“we must support workers’ well-being because it is profitable from a human perspective and, of course, economically. In fact, the Ministry wants to show society, large companies, and SMEs that it is necessary to work on Social Responsibility because it generates competitiveness, trust, and transparency”. Through its participation, the State Secretariat once again demonstrated the commitment of the country’s political, social, and economic institutions to quality of life and social well-being, equal opportunities, and business competitiveness.
The value of being responsible
The seventh edition of the National Alares Awards once again far exceeded expectations, thanks to a first-rate list of winners distinguished by their commitment to society. Javier Benavente Barrón, President of the Alares Foundation, acknowledged the value of organizations that support work–family reconciliation for their employees as an element capable of generating the competitiveness we need.
Similarly, the president of the Alares Foundation emphasized the importance of having the sponsorship of Ibermutuamur Prevention Society, the first occupational accident and professional disease mutual insurance organization to support the well-being of people with disabilities through awards. Its President, Mr. Eusebio Gómez, stated that:
“the commitment and participation of Ibermutuamur Prevention Society are driven by its dedication to people, especially when it comes to people with disabilities. Therefore, this is a project for the future, through which we want to make our company philosophy clear.”
Alongside the Alares Foundation, prominent figures such as Ramón Jáuregui, of the Socialist Parliamentary Group and a trustee of the Alares Foundation, also participated. He stressed the importance of working on Social Responsibility because, in this way, we can overcome the ethical disaster we are facing and the uncertainty surrounding us. In fact, Jáuregui highlighted the value of companies that create life, habitability, and society—in other words, ethical companies that will make our world a better place to live.
A positive society
The CaixaForum venue in Madrid was chosen to bring together the more than 500 guests who attended the National Alares Awards Gala, where human capital was the absolute protagonist. Proof of this can be seen in the sound ideas, the quality of the projects, and the creativity of the initiatives that shaped the results of a first-rate list of winners, united by business competitiveness and sustainability. Without a doubt, the Alares Foundation has once again shown that, after seven editions, these awards are an outstanding benchmark in the social, economic, and cultural spheres of our country.
