In this way, according to Cermi, the Ministry of Education will be one of the first ministries, after Defense and Public Works, to champion the social dimension of public procurement, going beyond the minimum requirements established by current legislation.
The collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Education and Cermi will be signed next February 16 by Minister Ángel Gabilondo and the president of the disability organization, Luis Cayo Pérez Bueno.
Cermi has called on all public administrations “to strengthen the social dimension of public procurement, especially at a time of crisis and budget cuts such as this, because a well-targeted public purchasing policy promotes the social inclusion of groups of citizens such as people with disabilities.”
