Alares’ Work–Family Reconciliation Program reaches 600,000 beneficiaries

The Alares Program, an organization specializing in Family Assistance and in reconciling work, family, and personal life, has reached 600,000 beneficiaries—600,000 people who are entitled to use Alares® Services free of charge. This further consolidates Alares® as the No. 1 organization in the creation and provision of assistance services not covered by the State for large groups, with the aim of promoting labor integration and equal opportunities. When implemented by companies, these services improve their productivity and competitiveness and, in general, people’s quality of life.

With the Alares® Family Assistance Program for Reconciliation, we directly address the main problem behind the need for such a program: the need to care for and look after one’s family when an unforeseen event or emergency arises. This makes it impossible for many women to enter the labor market or develop professionally and, on the other hand, is responsible for more than 50% of absenteeism in companies (according to various studies).

This Reconciliation program offers a world of services to care for employees and their immediate family members (parents, spouse, and children) in any organization, wherever they are and anywhere in Spain. The services included in this program are listed below. Employees may use them free of charge whenever they or a family member needs them in response to everyday emergencies or unforeseen events:

- Personal Assistance at Home
- Specialized Treatments at Home
- Private Tutors at Home
- International Second Medical Opinion in the Event of Serious Illnesses, covering both Diagnosis and Treatment
- Anonymous, Unlimited Telephone Consultations with Alares® specialists in the following areas: medical, legal, psychological, geriatric, pediatric, social, and dietary-nutritional.
- Preventive and Assistance Social Telecare, 24 hours a day, both fixed (in the home) and mobile (anywhere)
- Recruitment of Social and Health Care Assistants, Domestic Staff, Childcare Workers, and Geriatric Caregivers.
- “Babysitters”: Childcare and supervision in the event of work-related emergencies.
- Medical, Dental, Wellness, and Beauty Provider Network. Contracted and rate-based.
- Management of Repairs and Various Trades: plumbers, electricians,…
- General “miAsistente” service for handling any task the employee may need during working hours (administrative services, vehicle inspection, restaurant reservations, etc.—any type of task).

Caring for and looking after employees’ family members when everyday unforeseen events arise (postoperative recovery, illness, high-risk pregnancies, children left alone because of their parents’ work schedules, older people, etc.) is becoming a priority for any organization seeking to recruit and retain the best professionals, regardless of gender. It is therefore increasingly urgent to develop effective reconciliation programs that enable both men and women to fulfill their professional and personal aspirations without neglecting their families, which require the same—or even more—care as ever.

On the other hand, companies gain many benefits by implementing the Alares® Reconciliation Program, including reduced absenteeism, increased productivity, the recruitment and retention of employees, an improved work environment, and greater workplace appeal, enhancing the company’s internal and external image. It also falls within the legal framework established by the recent Organic Law for the Effective Equality of Women and Men.

Today, our client companies include both large corporations and SMEs. They all consider employee support to be key to their future development and strategic positioning. Companies that have introduced Alares® services for their employees include: ENAGAS, PSA PEUGEOT CITRÖEN, ADECCO, ACCOR SERVICES, ARBORA & AUSONIA, ALTA GESTIÓN, CBS OUTDOOR, KIABI, T-SYSTEMS,…, etc., among others.
One of the added values Alares® provides in managing its Family Assistance Program has been and continues to be the provision of Personal Assistance Services exclusively through its own professionals anywhere in the country, no matter how remote the location. This guarantees complete control over the processes and their quality nationwide.

The Alares® Family Assistance Program received the “IMSERSO Infanta Cristina Awards, 2004” distinction from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs as the best Program for Reconciling Personal, Family, and Working Life, as well as for Innovation in Care for Dependent People.

The management system is based on and focused on Alares®’ own processes, audited by AENOR and supported by UNE-EN ISO 9001/2000 certification.
In addition, Alares® holds the “efr” certification as a family-responsible company in the Large Companies category, awarded by the +Familia Foundation.
