Presentation of the 2008 Alares National Awards for Work-Life, Family, and Personal Life Reconciliation

The Alares Foundation held the presentation ceremony for the 2008 Alares® National Awards, the most prestigious national awards in the field of work-life balance. They were created to recognize the work carried out in this field by institutions, companies, social organizations, the media, audiovisual programs, innovation and research initiatives, universities, business schools, and professors and researchers. The awards were presented by Ms. Maravillas Rojo Torrecilla, Secretary-General for Employment, and Mr. Javier Benavente Barrón, President of the Alares® Foundation, accompanied by members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. In this edition, in accordance with the jury’s decision of May 27, as recorded in the official minutes, the awards went to:

Medium-sized: Ex aequo, “Contratas y Obras” and “Informa”
Large Company: Procter and Gamble
Social Organizations: ONCE Foundation

Information or Programs in Audiovisual Media: The film La Soledad
Innovation and Research: Gerardo Meil
Universities, Business Schools, Other Educational and Research Institutions: ESADE
Professors and Researchers: Mª Jesús Valdemoros

Organized nationally by the Alares® Foundation, these annual awards were created to publicly recognize the work carried out by various institutions, companies, social organizations, executives, and media outlets in support of work-life balance, as well as the development of proposals and services that contribute to equality, personal autonomy, and improved quality of life for individuals and their families—and, in parallel, to improved business productivity and competitiveness.
