Alares Senior Management Forum

Alares Senior Management Forum

"During the crisis, companies have had to implement policies to survive. Now it is time for long-term strategic planning."

Where are we? Where does the company stand from a socioeconomic perspective? This was the question with which José Folgado, president of Red Eléctrica de España, began his presentation at the latest Alares Senior Management Forum. Folgado also recalled Darwin’s words: “It is not the strongest or the most intelligent that survives, but the one that knows best how to adapt to its environment,” because, in his view, it is not money that moves the world, but ideas. These are just some of the reflections shared at this forum, which serves as a meeting point for presidents, CEOs, general managers, and directors of the various divisions of leading companies in Spain, as well as a space for networking that generates synergies among attendees. As part of its ongoing objective of helping companies retain and attract customers and improve their image, and within the framework of its commitment to CSR, Alares has been organizing this forum for senior management on a bimonthly basis for some time. In a relaxed and private setting, the forum addresses the issues that currently affect companies most, helping them grow and remain leaders in the future—an area in which Alares is an expert. The latest meeting featured a presentation by José Folgado, president of Red Eléctrica de España, who highlighted how Spanish companies have so far had to implement policies to survive, whereas now it is time for long-term strategic planning. The meeting was attended by 25 leaders from leading companies operating in the Spanish market. They were able to reflect on the current business and social situation and on what needs to be done to face the future with strength, preferably from a differentiated position of leadership. Above all, these forums aim to be an enriching space that generates ideas to help today’s companies not only survive 2020, but also achieve the competitive differentiation needed to secure sustained leadership.
