3rd Conference of the UOC International Graduate Institute on “Leadership and Talent in Business” with Ferran Adrià and Ferran Soriano

On June 3, the UOC International Graduate Institute’s 3rd Conference was held at Mon Sant Benet (Bages), Barcelona, under the title “Leadership and Talent in Business,” attended by more than 300 executives. Alongside leading speakers such as restaurateur Ferran Adrià (El Bulli) and Ferran Soriano (Spanair), the Alares® Group was responsible for delivering the workshop on Work–Life Balance, thereby demonstrating that promoting work–life balance is part of good business management. Under the title “Is Work–Life Balance Possible? A Model for the 21st Century,” Joan Pinyol, Managing Director of Alares®, addressed the needs of today’s society, where new family models require employment policies that enable people to balance their personal and family lives. In this situation, the labor market cannot remain indifferent, which is why companies need to review their HR strategies to promote work–life balance. The conclusion Pinyol reached during his presentation was: “In the current economic climate, promoting employee well-being is essential as the foundation for achieving business excellence. Moreover, we must abandon the idea that work–life balance is a measure that benefits only employees, since it has been proven to have a direct impact on an organization’s competitiveness.” Innovation is a business capability that must be applied continuously. In this regard, building a workforce of engaged and satisfied employees will have an impact on the productivity level of the company itself.
