Held in Mérida, the “Spain integrACTS” initiative took over the Alcazaba cultural center with a gala and an exhibition of short films, advertisements, photojournalism, and music, aimed at informing citizens and raising awareness of the importance of fostering a society that guarantees equal conditions for everyone.
All the cultural projects presented are artistic and audiovisual works developed during 2009 as part of the European project “Promoting Social Inclusion, integrACTS,” by different social sectors: film, advertising, NGOs, trade unions, academia, and people at risk of social exclusion.
The exhibition, opened on June 29, remained open until July 2, when the gala was held. At both events, free copies of the guides “Key Facts about Poverty and Social Exclusion in Spain” and “In the Face of Poverty and Social Exclusion, What Can I Do?” were distributed.
This project was funded by the European Social Fund through the Operational Programme for Combating Discrimination 2007–2013.
