In his film, Rosales has portrayed a complex world of needs, feelings, and fears underlying characters who need help and support from society. Support that prevents social exclusion while, at the same time, enabling the consolidation of principles of solidarity, equality, and respect for diversity. The film, which won three Goya Awards (Best Film, Director and Breakthrough Actor), shows us protagonists who, despite existential loneliness and pain, struggle and believe in new possibilities and horizons. With this message, Jaime Rosales will close the 1st International Alares® Congress on February 21: Quality of Life and Business Competitiveness. In this regard, Rosales will advocate before Congress attendees for all those changes to the current system that would improve well-being and bring greater prosperity. “We live in a society in which market values and superficial relationships between human beings are very important. This is the general dynamic, and it is worrying, but I have the feeling that this is beginning to change,” says the filmmaker.Rosales, who holds a degree in Business Sciences, began his training as a filmmaker at the International School of Film and Television in Havana (Cuba) and continued at the Australian Film Television and Radio School in Sydney (Australia). The director of several successful short films, his first feature film, “The Hours of the Day,” received the International Critics’ Award in the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.
