Work-Life Balance: Emotional Compensation for Employees

Once again, we want to demonstrate that work-life balance remains the key to retaining the best talent. Offering a salary is no longer enough; top professionals are beginning to demand that their organizations provide work-life balance measures that help them in their daily lives. In other words, Quality of Life and Well-Being so they can be happier and work better. This is the emotional salary employees want, yet few organizations are still willing to provide. As a result, we are facing a significant talent drain, with people ready to leave their jobs because they lack the support they need to enjoy their personal and family lives.

This morning, at the fourth Yo Dona conference, "Work-Life Balance in Times of Change", Grupo Alares defended work-life balance as a driver of value and competitiveness. Mar Aguilera was responsible for showing us how, without flexibility to reconcile work and personal life, it is impossible to grow and evolve, either as a society or as an economy.

According to IESE, an employee who leaves their job because they are unhappy with their organization generates a huge financial loss, which can amount to as much as a year and a half of their salary. It is clear that the lack of work-life balance measures is one of the main reasons why an employee wants to leave their job.

From Grupo Alares, we support initiatives such as Yo Dona's, which, after four editions, remains a benchmark. We also encourage organizations to embrace work-life balance, because it offers what they need to grow.
