Work–life balance, an added value for companies

Today, we live in a diverse and pluralistic world where women have fully entered the workforce. Therefore, companies must recognize the need to help their employees reconcile their family, professional, and personal lives. With this objective, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, as part of the Concilia Madrid service, is holding a workshop today to teach business owners best practices for work-life balance. Through this program, the benefits that work-life balance provides to employees—and also to employers—will be highlighted, since employee motivation increases a company's productivity and competitiveness. In addition, it helps prevent absenteeism and the associated costs, while creating a workforce that is more committed to the company's philosophy. Work-life balance measures must take the needs of both the company and its employees into account, because both parties should benefit from them. Key measures include flexible working hours and the implementation of family services within the company.
