It is estimated that approximately 50 million people with some type of disability live in the European Union, making them one of the largest groups at potential risk of social and employment exclusion. Therefore, the new strategy proposed by the EU focuses on the active inclusion of this group, which will have the same rights and opportunities as all other European citizens.
