Can’t you increase salary budgets? Invest in “emotional salary”

If your company cannot increase its employees’ salaries, do not give up on rewarding a job well done. It is time to embrace the “Emotional Salary.” The reason is that society increasingly values it, and it helps companies improve their employees’ working conditions. What is more, so-called employee benefits are what the most highly qualified employees demand most, and Work-Life, Family and Personal-Life Balance is at the top of the list. Therefore, organizations that want to attract the best human capital must not think only about the financial value of work—which is much greater when there is a good work-life balance and employee assistance program—but should also benefit their employees through what matters most to them: their personal lives and families.

In times of economic and social uncertainty such as these, employees need to see their organization as an example of responsibility. Productivity depends on this not declining, and the company being strengthened by those who, ultimately, provide that added value: people. It has been proven that the “Emotional Salary” pays off, and employees understand it as a commitment to the organization because the organization does it for them and their families. Moreover, we must understand that work-life, family and personal-life balance is no longer a matter of the future; it is a reality today, and society demands it more strongly every day.

It is time to look for alternatives to employees’ salaries, which, although they are the most important factor, can be complemented by services such as the work-family balance assistance services offered by Alares, the most award-winning program in Spain, implemented for all employees of a large number of companies in our country.
